By TDSN staff

TUSD is facing a civil lawsuit for their alleged negligence in hiring, training, supervising and retaining John Angel Corral, a Mansfeld Middle School security monitor who allegedly “verbally harrased and physically touched” one of two minors, a brother and sister, whose parents brought the claim against the school district.

Court records indicate TUSD did not initially respond to the claim filed in Pima County Superior Court which constitutes a statutory denial of the charges.

Plaintiff’s allege TUSD retained Corral after separate similar incidences at other TUSD schools during his tenure in 2002 and 2008, Corral was arrested by TPD for both instances according to the complaint.

The case has been moved to Arizona Federal District Court and on December 13th was ordered under the supervision of Magistrate Judge Eric J. Markovich.
