Ward 1, Ward 5 and the Department of Transportation welcome public feedback
The public is invited to an open house this Thursday June 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the El Pueblo Senior Center, 101 W. Irvington. This is an opportunity to hear about the progress made in planning and development improvements to South 12th Avenue, between Irvington and Drexel roads, and to voice your questions or concerns.
The initiative is part of the City of Tucson’s “Complete Streets” approach to roadway design.
“Permanent improvements include; constructing sidewalks, consolidating driveway entrances to improve safety, and streetscape and landscape improvements. Pilot project improvements include; reducing the number of vehicle travel lanes to one lane in each direction, adding striped bicycle lanes, and creating on-street parking in some locations,” according to a city press release.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend and engage with officials and project team members and submit written comments.
